I find that, music I didn't really like back in the 60's 70's, dosen't seen to sound any better to me 30-40 years later!! Having said that, I think ELP were a bit 'heavy' for me back in those days. I appreciate them more now!
Don't get me started on Dylan! My father was fanatic about his early works so from a very early age I could say my introduction to the world of folk/rock was through listnening to my Dad's tapes etc. I feel I was brain washed to a degree
I appreciate King Crimson more these days, the first (famous) album at least! I'm more into the heavy side these days.
King Crimson's first album was phenomenal!! I still try to follow Robert Fripp. I also had the pleasure of seeing them way back in the early '70's. Fantastic live!! Dylan brainwashing!! That's funny!! Your Dad had good taste!!
I always try to tell friends about Richard Thompson. He's unknown to most music lovers yet is considered one of the great guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone and Q magazine.
If you want I can get you to some of his music. If you already know who he is I'll just shut-up!!
